George Fern was born on 27 August 1867 at Lanarkshire, Scotland.1 He was the son of Bernard Fern.1
George Fern died on 9 May 1889 at Johnstone, Renfreshire, Scotland, at age 21;
Bernard's son George moved to Johnstone District, Renfrewshire after Bernards's death. Haunted by the same disease that killed his father-tuberculosis-George, b 27 Aug 1867, died 9 May 1889 at age 21 in Johnstone, Renfrewshire. His brother John Fearon signed the death record. Althouhg John gave his stepfather's address in Glasgow as his residence, he may have been staying in Johnstone when George died inasmuch as one legal requirement of informant on a death certificate usually was that the individual had actually witnessed the death.1
