Terence O'Hara died on 16 January 1961 at Ruth Wilson Hurley Manor, Coalgate, Coal County, Oklahoma, at age 82.2

Early Day Miner and First Resident of Manor Dies at 83 Years Requiem Mass for Terence "Terry" O'Hara will be held at 10 o'clock this morning (Thursday) at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church by the Rev. Daniel Keohane. Born Jan 17, 1878 at Glasgow, Scotland, he came to the No. 5 mining area when he was a young boy and worked in the mines through his youth and until his retirement. After retiring he served for many years as justice of peace, living at Cottonwood; and after completion of Ruth Wilson Hurley Manor, he bcame the first resident in the home made possible by his boyhood friend, Gen. Patrick J. Hurley. His wife preceded him in death and he is survivied by two sons and one daughter; Pat O'Hara, Midwest City, John B. O'Hara, Santa Barbara, Calif. and Mrs Margaret Giacommetti, Pittsburg, Kansas; one sister, Mrs. Jack McEwan, Amarillo, Texas; one brother, William O'Hara of Indigo, Calif. and a number of grandchildren. He died at the Manor at 5 o'clock Monday morning just one day before his 83rd birthday. Burial will be at Lehigh cemetery with Slater funeral home directing.2 He was buried on 19 January 1961 at Lehigh Cemetery, Lehigh, Coal County, Oklahoma.2
