Margaret was enumerated with Samuel Carson on the census of 2 April 1871 at Craigenputtock, Dunscore, Dumfriesshire, Scotland, as Margaret Carson. She is a 21 year old female born circa 1850 in Dunscore, Dumfreishire. She is enumerated as a sister and works as an agricultural laborer.4

Margaret Carson married Patrick O'Hara, son of Bernard O'Hara and Grace Ferry, on 4 October 1872 at Neilston, Renfrewshire, Scotland. Fourth Oct 1872, Neilston, after banns of the forms of the Catholic Church, Patrick O'Hara, Iron Stone Miner bachelor, age 22, residing Leegton, Dunlop, a son of Bernard O'Hara, Coal Miner, deceased, and Grace O'Hara M.S. Ferrie, deceased, and Margaret, her mark, Carson Domestic Servant, Spinster age 20 of Cross Artherlie, Barrhead, daughter of Samuel Carson Blacksmith and Margaret Carson, M.S. Wilson, signed James McNamara, Cath. Clergyman and Neil Brown, Witness, and James Loughrey, Witness.1

Margaret is head of household on the census of 3 April 1881 at No 24 Lugton Row, Lugton, Dunlop, Ayrshire, Scotland, as Margaret Harra. She is a 29 year old female born circa 1852 in Coatbridge, Lanarkshire. She works as a farm servant. Enumerated with her were Jeanie O'Hara, Margaret O'Hara, Terence O'Hara and Grace O'Hara.5

Margaret Carson immigrated on 19 June 1888 to Port of New York, New York City, New York County, New York; The immigrant family consisted of Margaret a 37 year old female listed as a wife; Terence, a 10 year old male and son; Margaret, 6 year old female and daughter; Mary, 4 year old female and daughter and Willie 2 year old and son. They are from Scotland travelling to North America. The ship is called the Cirassia and embarked from Glasgow.6

Margaret was enumerated with Patrick O'Hara on the census of 7 June 1900 at Weir, Cherokee County, Kansas, as Margaret O'Hara. She is a married white female 50 years old born May 1850 in Scotland. She has been married for 25 years. She has given birth to 7 children and 6 survive. Both of her parents were born in Scotland.7

Margaret was enumerated with Patrick O'Hara on the census of 22 April 1910 at Murray Township, Coal County, Oklahoma, as Marguerette O'Hara. She is a 60 year old married female born in Scotland as were both of her parents. She has been married for 38 years and has given birth to 13 children with 7 surviving. She is enumerated as a wife. She can read and write.8

Margaret Carson died on 21 October 1914 at Coalgate, Coal County, Oklahoma.9

An obituary was in the Coalgate Courier: Mrs. O'Hara is Dead Mrs. Patrick O'Hara passed away Wednesday after a long illness. Mrs. O'Hara was amoung the very first settlers in Coalgate and during all her years of residence here has made many warm friends who will regret to learn of her death. She was born August 1850. A husband and six children survive her, three boys and three girls, all grown. Funeral services will be held at residence in Coalgate Friday at 2:30 p.m. and interment in Lehigh cemetery.10

An obituary was in the Coalgate Record Register: Mrs. O'Hara Dead Mrs Patrick O'Hara died at her home in this city last night. The deceased had been suffering for more that a year, but her sudden death was unexpected. The deceased was 64 years and 3 months old. Services will be held at the family home tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. and the remains will be interred in the Lehigh cemetery.9 She was buried on 23 October 1914 at Lehigh Cemetery, Lehigh, Coal County, Oklahoma.9
