Desendants of Terence O'Hara
     Patrick O'Hara was born in 1849 at New Kilpatrick, Dunbartonshire, Scotland.1 He was the son of Bernard O'Hara and Grace Ferry.1

Patrick was enumerated with Bernard O'Hara on the census of 30 March 1851 at Blairdardie Colliery, Dumbarton, East Kilpatrick, Dunbartonshire, Scotland, as Patrick O'Hara. He is a two year son born circa 1849 in W. Kilpatrick, Dumbartonshire. His occupation is listed as "collier's son".2

Patrick was enumerated with Bernard O'Hara on the census of 7 April 1861 at Provenhall, Parish of Shettleston, Lanarkshire, Scotland, as Patrick O'Harra. Patrick is listed as 12 years old and is a son. He works as a coal miner and was born in Dunbartonshire.3

Patrick was enumerated with Patrick Ferry on the census of 2 April 1871 at Drumchapel, New Kilpatrick, Dunbartonshire, Scotland, as Patrick Oharra. He is a 22 year male born circa 1849 in New Kilpatrick, Dumbartonshire. He is enumerated as a lodger and works as a miner.4

Patrick O'Hara married Margaret Carson, daughter of Samuel Carson and Margaret Wilson, on 4 October 1872 at Neilston, Renfrewshire, Scotland. Fourth Oct 1872, Neilston, after banns of the forms of the Catholic Church, Patrick O'Hara, Iron Stone Miner bachelor, age 22, residing Leegton, Dunlop, a son of Bernard O'Hara, Coal Miner, deceased, and Grace O'Hara M.S. Ferrie, deceased, and Margaret, her mark, Carson Domestic Servant, Spinster age 20 of Cross Artherlie, Barrhead, daughter of Samuel Carson Blacksmith and Margaret Carson, M.S. Wilson, signed James McNamara, Cath. Clergyman and Neil Brown, Witness, and James Loughrey, Witness.5

On 3 Apr 1881 in Coylton, Ayrshire, he is enumerated as a 30 year old male born circa 1851 in New Kilpatrick. He is listed as a boarder in the James Hawthorn household and works as an iron miner. This may or not be Patrick O'Hara but his age, place of birth and occupation match. Lugton, where his wife Margaret is enumerated as head of household, is less than 30 miles to the north.6

Patrick O'Hara immigrated on 21 April 1888 to Port of New York, New York City, New York County, New York; He is a 38 year old male born circa 1850. He is a miner. He is listed as Patk O'Hara. The ships name is State of Pennsylvania and the port of departure was Glasgow, Scotland and Larne, Ireland. Port of arrival was New York.7

Patrick is head of household on the census of 7 June 1900 at Weir, Cherokee County, Kansas, as Patrick O'Hara. He is a 50 year old white male born Feb. 1850 in Scotland. He has been married for 25 years and works as a coal miner. He immigrated to the United States in 1887 and has been a resident for 13 years. He is not naturalized. He can read and write and he rents his home. Enumerated with him were Margaret Carson, Terence O'Hara, Mary O'Hara, Patrick O'Hara, Susan O'Hara and William O'Hara.8

Patrick is head of household on the census of 22 April 1910 at Murray Township, Coal County, Oklahoma, as Patrick O'Hara. He is a married white male 60 years old and born in Scotland. He has been married for 38 years. Both of his parents were born in Ireland. He immigrated to the United States in 1887 and is naturalized, He works as a coal miner and was out of work for 28 weeks in 1909. He owns his own home free of mortgage. Adjacent to this house is the William Fanty household, son-in-law to Patrick O'Hara. Enumerated with him were Margaret Carson, Patrick O'Hara, Susan O'Hara and William O'Hara.9

Patrick was widowed by the death of Margaret Carson on 21 October 1914.10

Patrick O'Hara died on 18 February 1920 at Henryetta, Okmulgee County, Oklahoma.11 He was buried on 21 February 1920 at Lehigh Cemetery, Lehigh, Coal County, Oklahoma.11

An obituary was in the Coalgate Courier: Pat O'Hara Dies at Henryetta The remains of Pat O'Hara were shipped here Friday from Henryetta. Mr. O'Hara was one of the old timers of Coalgate coming here in the early days where he has since made his home. He died Wednesday of last week at Henryetta in his 71 year. Funeral Services were held at the Catholic church Saturday moning at 8:30 and burial occurred in Lehigh cemetery Saturday afternoon.11
