Joseph Harrigan
     Joseph Harrigan was born on 17 October 1899 at Scammon, Cherokee County, Kansas.1,2 He was the son of Hugh Harrigan and Anna Marie McCormick.

Joseph was enumerated with Hugh Harrigan on the census of 13 June 1900 at Mineral Twp, Scammon, Cherokee County, Kansas, as Joseph Harrigan. Joseph is listed as a 1 year old white male. He was born Oct 1898 in Kansas. Both of his parents were born in Scotland.3

Joseph was enumerated with Hugh Harrigan on the census of 15 April 1910 at Ross Twp, Cherokee County, Kansas, as Joseph Harrigan. Joseph is indicated as 11 years old and was born in Kansas. Both of his parents were born in Scotland.4 In 26 November 1938 Joseph Harrigan lived at Scammon, Cherokee County, Kansas.5 In 12 October 1939 Joseph Harrigan lived at Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri.6 In 11 September 1941 Joseph Harrigan lived at Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri.7

Joseph Harrigan died on 4 March 1965 at Lynwood, Los Angeles County, California, at age 65.8

An obituary was in the Columbus newspaper: Joseph A. Harrigan, 68, formerly of Scammon, died at his home Friday night in Lynwood, Calif. Mr Harrigan was born in Scammon and moved to Lynwood in 1946, where he worked for the post office. He was a veteran of World War l and ll. Surviviors include one brother, Leo Harrigan, Scammon; three sisters, Mrs. Ellen Priddy, Coffeyville, Mrs. Elizabeth Carlson, Edna;s Nursing Home in Pittsburg, and Mrs. Cy Wright, Southgate, Calif. Funeral services were held today at the Catholic Church in Lynwood, with burial in the National Cemetery in Long Beach, Calif.9 He was buried on 8 March 1965 at National Cemetery, Long Beach, Los Angeles County, California. According to a prayer card for Joe, the Requiem Mass was held at St. Emydius Church and his interment was in Ft. Rosecrans Cemetery.8,10
