Joseph Harrigan died on 4 March 1965 at Lynwood, Los Angeles County, California, at age 65.8
An obituary was in the Columbus newspaper: Joseph A. Harrigan, 68, formerly of Scammon, died at his home Friday night in Lynwood, Calif. Mr Harrigan was born in Scammon and moved to Lynwood in 1946, where he worked for the post office. He was a veteran of World War l and ll. Surviviors include one brother, Leo Harrigan, Scammon; three sisters, Mrs. Ellen Priddy, Coffeyville, Mrs. Elizabeth Carlson, Edna;s Nursing Home in Pittsburg, and Mrs. Cy Wright, Southgate, Calif. Funeral services were held today at the Catholic Church in Lynwood, with burial in the National Cemetery in Long Beach, Calif.9 He was buried on 8 March 1965 at National Cemetery, Long Beach, Los Angeles County, California. According to a prayer card for Joe, the Requiem Mass was held at St. Emydius Church and his interment was in Ft. Rosecrans Cemetery.8,10
