Isabella Higgins

     Isabella Higgins was born on 5 December 1866 at Fergushill, Killwinning, Ayrshire, Scotland.^1,2 She was the daughter of Terence Higgins and Catherine O'Hara.¹

Isabella was enumerated with John Greenless on the census of 3 April 1881 at Stevenston, Ayrshire, Scotland, as Isabella Higgins. She is a 14 year old female born circa 1867 in Fergushill, Ayrshire. She is enumerated as a servant.⁴

Isabella Higgins married Edward Galvin on 27 November 1885 at Wandhouse, Stevenston, Ayrshire, Scotland. 27 November 1885 according to banns of the Roman Catholic Church - Wandhouse, Stevenston, Ayrshire - marriage of Edward Galvin, laborer, dynamite work, bachelor, age 22, son of James Galvin, farm laborer and Hannah O'Bryan to Isabella Higgins, cartridge filler, dynamite worker, spinster, age 19, daughter of Terrence Higgins, coal miner and Catherine O'Hara. Witnesses are Torrence Higgans, James Loughran, John Higgins and Bridget Rourk.⁵

Isabella Higgins died on 1 May 1945 at Houtzdale, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania, at age 78; alzheimer's.⁶ She was buried at St. Laurence Catholic Cemetery, Houtzdale, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania.⁶
