Barbara McCormick married William Grady, son of Thomas Grady and Ann Scott McCloskey, on 23 October 1889 at St Bridget's Catholic Church, Scammon, Cherokee County, Kansas, other participants were Mary Ellen McCormick.8,9

On 20 Jun 1913 the Scammon Miner reported: Mrs. Grady is spending the week with her son on his farm near Crestline.15
Barbara was enumerated with William Grady on the census of 1 March 1915 at Scammon, Cherokee County, Kansas, as Barbara McCormick. She is a 42 year old female white female born in Pennsylvania. She came from Pennsylvania to Kansas and works as a house wife.16
On 23 Nov 1917 the Miner reports: Mrs Wm. Grady was seriously ill last week but is improving rapidly at the present time.17
Barbara was enumerated with William Grady on the census of 6 February 1920 at Scammon, Cherokee County, Kansas, as Barbara Grady. Barbara is indicated as wife and is a 47 year old white female. She was bornin Pennsylvania and can read and write. Her father and mother were both born in Ireland.18
On 1 Feb 1923 the local paper reports: Mrs. Wm. Grady is sick at her home in the northeast part of town.19
Barbara McCormick died on 5 May 1925 at Scammon, Cherokee County, Kansas, at age 52.20
On 6 May 1925 an obituary was in the Columbus newspaper: Mrs. Barbara Grady, 52, died at her home here at 5 o'clock this morning. Mrs. Grady was born June 21, 1872 in Pennsylvania, and removed to this district in the pioneer days. She is survived by her husband, William Grady; five sons, Tom Grady, Hanna, N. Y; William Grady, Texas; Edward Grady, Joe Grady and Morris Gray, Scammon; four daughters, Mrs Lenski, Iola; Mrs. Gallagher, Scammon; Cecelia Grady and Gracie Grady, Scammon; three sisters, Mrs Harrigan, Scammon and Mrs. James Ferns, Scammon; one brother, Angelo McCormick, who lives in Pennsylvania.
Funeral services will be held at 9 o'clock Thursday morning from the Catholic church conducted by the Rev. Father O'Leary and burial will be in St. Bridget's cemetery.21
Another obituary was in the Scammon newspaper: Mrs. Barbara Grady, 52, dies at her home here at 5 o'clock Sunday morning. Mrs Grady was born June 21, 1872, in Penn., and moved to this district in the pioneer days.
She is survived by her husband, William Grady; five sons, Tom of Hanna, N.Y; Wm. of Texas; Edward, Joe and Morris Grady of Scammon; four daughters, Mrs Linski of Iola, Mrs. John Grady, of Scammon and Mrs. James Ferns of Scammon; one brother, Angelo McCormick of Pennsylvannia.
Funeral services were held at 9:00 o'clock this morning from St. Bridget's Catholic church, by the Rev. Father O'Leary, with internment in St. Bridget's cemetery.22 She was buried on 7 May 1925 at St Bridget's Cemetery, Scammon, Cherokee County, Kansas.23,2,3,24,25
