Marriage bond for John Agee and Senny Hylton, 3 July 1798, Patrick Co VA. L. N. Agee 'The Agee Register' p. 605, identifies John as John Jr., son of John and Mary Ogg. He gives the following children for John: Joshua, (b 4-8-1799), Samuel (40 in 1850), Nathaniel (b 1811), William (b 2-5-1813), and Austin (b abt 1820). Joshua Agee identified his parents as John and Sena Agee at his marriage to Mary Via, Floyd Co VA (Vital Records) 20 Dec 1865. Nathaniel Agee (age 44, b Patrick, widower) listed his parents as John and Sena Agee at his marriage to Sally Kelly 10 Oct 1855 (Patrick Co VA marriages reg 3, p 11, line 9). The above records would seem to indicate there were nine children in the family: seven boys and two girls. The oldest is Joshua (b 1799). Nathaniel may be 2nd or 5th depending on resolution of contradictory data about his age-- his age according to census records was 57 in 1860 and 66 in 1870 (b 1803/4), while his age is 44 at his 2nd marriage in 1855 (b 1811). If Nathaniel is 5th, an unidentified boy was born 1802-4. An unidentified girl (#3) was born 1805-1810. Samuel was next oldest (#4), based on his age 40 in the 1850 census (b 1810). Nathaniel fits in next if born in 1811. Otherwise, William is possibly next (b 1813) (#5 or 6). An unidentified girl was born 1810-15 (#6 or 7). If Nathaniel is 2nd, another unknown boy was born 1810-1820. The 8th child is probably a son born 1815-1820, and finally Austin is 9th (age 39 in 1860 census--age 49 1870 census, therefore born about 1821).
