Francis Grady was baptized on 11 January 1906 at St Bridget's Catholic Church, Scammon, Cherokee County, Kansas.5

Another obituary for Francis reads as follows: Died, at the home of her parents Wm. Grady and his wife, in this city at on Sunday morning Nov. 11th, little Francis Grady, aged one year and ten days. The little sufferer was afflicted with membraneous croup and was ill for only a short time, the parents not realizing her condition was so critical until the end was near. All that could be done to relieve the little one was without avail and she passed from her earthly home, to the beautiful home beyond, leaving her sorrowing parents and brothers and sisters to mourn the sad loss of the little flower, whose bloom on earth was short, but whose fragrance will be lasting in the hearts of the loved ones left behind. The internment was made on Monday afternoon at the Catholic cemetery. The bereaved family have the sympathy of the entire community in their sad loss.6
An obituary was in the local newspaper: The little 16 month old child of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Grady passed away suddenly Sunday morning of croup. Everything possible was done for the little one but proved of no avail. The sympathy of the Journal and many friends is extended.7
