Hannah Gavin married Daniel McCormick, son of Bernard McCormick and Ellen O'Hara, on 23 December 1882 at Columbiana, Columbiana County, Ohio.3

Her parents were both born in Ireland.1
Hannah is head of household on the census of 15 April 1910 at Mineral Twp, Scammon, Cherokee County, Kansas, as Hannah McCormick. Hannah is listed as a white female 44 years of age born in Ireland. She is indicated as a widow and has given birth to 9 children and all 9 are living. Both of her parents were born in Ireland and she makes her living by doing odd jobs. Marge Thayer commented that Hannah would take in laundry to make money. She can read and write and rents her home. Enumerated with her were Mary McCormick, Anna McCormick, Patrick McCormick, John McCormick, Daniel McCormick, Barbara McCormick, Hannah McCormick and Leo McCormick.4
Hannah is head of household on the census of 15 April 1915 at Mineral Twp, Scammon, Cherokee County, Kansas, as Hanna McCormick. Hannah is a 49 year old white female born in Ireland. She came from Ohio to Kansas and earns her living by housekeeping. Enumerated with her were Bernard McCormick, John McCormick, Daniel McCormick, Barbara McCormick, Hannah McCormick, Leo McCormick, Joseph Thayer and Ramon Thayer.5
Hannah is head of household on the census of 1 June 1920 at Mineral Twp, Scammon, Cherokee County, Kansas, as Hannah McCormick. Hannah is listed as a single white male 54 years old and born in Ireland. She is a widow and rents her home. She immigrated in 1876 and is naturalized. Both of her parents were born in Ireland. Enumerated with her were Bernard McCormick, Barbara McCormick, Hannah McCormick, Leo McCormick, Joseph Thayer and Ramon Thayer.6
Hannah Gavin died on 8 November 1944 at Columbus City Hospital, Columbus, Cherokee County, Kansas, at age 79;

Funeral services for Mrs. Hannah McCormick, 79, of Scammon, who died
Wednesday morning, Nov. 8, at the Columbus City Hospital, were held Friday
morning at St. Bridget's Catholic church in Scammon with Father Hertel
officiating. Interment was in St. Bridget's cemetery.7,8,2,9 She was buried on 10 November 1944 at St Bridget's Cemetery, Scammon, Cherokee County, Kansas.7,9,2
An obituary was in the Columbus newspaper: Scammon, Nov 8--Mrs. Hannah McCormick, 79, resident of Scammon for the past 43 years, died at 1:00 o'clock this morning at the hospital in Columbus. Death resulted from shock suffered when Mrs. McCormick fell at her home here Sunday and broke her hip. Mrs. McCormick was born in Ireland on May 17, 1865, coming to the United States when she was nine years old. She was a member of St. Bridget's church here.
Surviviors include eight children, three daughters and five sons. They are Mrs. Mary Anderson of Oklahoma City, Mrs Charles Richardson of Parsons and Miss Barbara McCormick of the home; and five sones, Barney McCormick and Jack McCormick both of Collinsville, Ill., Pat McCormick of Carlsbad, N.M., Dan McCormick of Scammon and Leo McCormick of Coffeyville. There also are ten grandchildren and nine greatgrandchildren, One grandson, Ray Thayer, is with armed forces in France. Other survivors include a brother Pat Gavin, and a sister Mrs. Kate Meece of Arkansas.2
