Isabella McCormick

      Isabella McCormick was also known as Bella. She was born on 21 November 1855 at Dalry, Ayrshire, Scotland.^1,2 She was the daughter of Bernard McCormick and Ellen O'Hara.

Isabella McCormick died on 13 September 1938 at Scammon, Cherokee County, Kansas, at age 82.^22,2,23 She was buried on 16 September 1938 at St. Bridget's Catholic Church, Scammon, Cherokee County, Kansas.^24,22,2

An obituary was in the Scammon newspaper: Mrs. Isabelle Brady, 82, died at 11:30 o'clock last Tuesday morning at the home here after a two-day illness. She had been in failing health for over a year. Mrs Brady was born in Scotland Nov 21, 1855, and came to Scammon in 1878, where she had made her home since. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs Mary Fleming, of Kansas City; Mrs Francis Masterson, of Arma; Mrs George Henson, of Cinncinnati; three sons, Pat, of Scammon; Henry, of Weir, and William, of Cannonsburg, PA; two sisters, Mrs Jas Ferns, of Scammon; Mrs Hugh Harrigan, of Corona; one brother, Angelo McCormick, of Chicago, 17 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. The funeral was held last Friday morning at 9 o'clock from the Catholic church with Rev. Phil White in charge. Burial was in the St. Bridget's cemetery here.²⁵
