     Emma Christina Harrigan was born on 25 December 1911 at Corona, Cherokee County, Kansas. She was the daughter of Hugh Harrigan and Lillian May Stoker.

Emma was enumerated with Lillian May Stoker on the census of 15 March 1920 at Scammon, Cherokee County, Kansas, as Emma Harrigan. Emma is listed as a single white female 8 years of age. She was born in Kansas as were bothof her parents.1
The following appeared in the Scammon paper: Miss Emma Harrigan of Carona was seriously burned Monday when she fainted near the stove and in falling upset a tea-kettle of scalding water on her body.2

Emma Christina Harrigan died on 9 October 1926 at Mt Carmel Hospital, Pittsburg, Crawford County, Kansas, at age 14.3,4
An obituary was in the Columbus newspaper: Girl of 15 Seriously Ill at Hospital Several Days--Scammon, Oct 9--Miss Emma Harrigan, aged 15 years, died at Mt Carmel Hospital at 7:45 o'clock this morning. Miss Harrigan was seriously burned with hot water sept. 27. Funeral services will be held at the Catholic Church Monday morning at 10 o'clock. Rev P.J. O'Leary will conduct the services. Burial will be in the St Bridget's Cemetery. Miss Harrigan is survived by her mother, Mrs Lillian Harrigan, widow, five sisters, Mrs Evelyn Hopkins and Mrs Philemine Galerno; Misses Josephine, Gertrude and Anna, and one brother, Hughie, all of Scammon
Another obituary appeared in the Pittsburg paper: Scammon Girl Dies of Burns--Miss Emma Harrigan Succumbs at Mt Carmel Here--Miss Emma Harrigan, 15 year old daughter of Mrs Lillian Harrigan of Scammon died in Mt Carmel Hospital at 7:30 o'clock this morning from burns suffered a week ago last Monday when she pulled a teapot of boiling water upon her, as she fainted. The firl was badly burned from the waist down. She was removed to the hospital for treatment Monday, one week after the accident. Miss Harrigan was a freshman in the Mineral high school. She lived three miles west of Scammon.. Surviving her are the following other relatives besides her mother; Five sisters, Mrs Evelyn Hopkins, and Mrs Philonene Galena, both of Scammon, and Misses Josephine, Anna and Gertrude Harrigan at home; and one brother, Hughie, also at home. Funeral services will be conducted from the home Monday. Father P.J. O'Leary will conduct the services. Burial will be in the Scammon Catholic Cemetery.5 She was buried on 12 October 1926 at St. Bridget's Cemetery, Scammon, Cherokee County, Kansas.3
