Katherine Stewart

Katherine Stewart was also known as Kate Stewart. She was born on 25 December 1872 at Dalserf, District of Larkhall, Lanarkshire, Scotland.1
At the 30th anniversary of the founding of the order of the Knights of Pythias, a dinner and evening of entertainment was offered. Kate Stewart is listed in the program for performing a song.2 She and Angelo McCormick obtained a marriage license on 22 April 1896 at Columbus, Cherokee County, Kansas.3 Katherine Stewart married Angelo McCormick, son of Bernard McCormick and Ellen O'Hara, on 29 April 1896 at Pittsburg, Crawford County, Kansas.4
The following appeared in the Scammon paper: We happened to run across an old directory recently which was published a good many years ago, that is quite interesting......T.A. Lewis and J.J. Wooten were in the restaurant business and advertised good meals for 25c, also Mrs. Angelo McCormick.5
A. McCormick and wife have rented the Reno Building north of Quarton's and will open in a few days.6 Katherine Stewart was the godparent at the baptism of Arthur Stewart Connery on 14 May 1905 at St Bridget's Catholic Church, Scammon, Cherokee County, Kansas.7
The following appeared in the Scammon paper: Mrs. Nora Connery of Pittsburg is visiting her sister, Mrs. Kate McCormick.8 Katherine Stewart was the godparent at the baptism of Catherine Grace Grady on 26 April 1910 at St Bridget's Catholic Church, Scammon, Cherokee County, Kansas.9 The 1910 US Census listed Katherine Stewart along with Mary Grace McCormick in the household of Angelo McCormick in Mineral Twp, Scammon City, Cherokee County, Kansas.10 The 1920 US Census listed Katherine Stewart along with Mary Grace McCormick in the household of Angelo McCormick in Lower Burnell Twp, Parnnassus, Westmoreland, Pennsylvania.11
Katherine Stewart died on 28 September 1927 at Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, at age 54.12 She was buried at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, Worth, Cook County, Illinois.13
